Rugby is still going well its been a long season but anxious to get back to the island and get back on track with you guys. We are headed up to Newcastle this weekend with a bunch of the boys from the rugby team to hit the town on our bye week. One of the guys here chris monroe his father lives up in newcastle and ironically enough his dad was the coach for harvard rugby last season. So we have the week off and will be raising hell up there this weekend. Weve been up and down the past couple weeks rugby wise but still learning alot week after week. Phil got himself a tri this weekend, and also had one called back on a foward pass. So phil leads the tri comp 3-2 . . .we still have 2 more games left though wel keep ya posted. Alright boys we will miss the sevens tourney but will be back later that week . . .oh someone ask mike martin if landers is coming to get us . . . . . or else wel be hangin at JFK . . .no ride status.

May 19th 09

Hey guys, Heard we had a tough one this weekend in NH, hope the boys shake it off and focus on making this weekend one to remember. Me and phil had our ups and downs aswell phils team one a close one 5-0 and my team lost a close one 14-10. . .and your boy scored the only tri of the game . . thats my highlight. Rugb is going very well, as you know its winter here and its getting a bit chilly. We are looking foward to our visit in 2 weeks from the behans, it will be nice to have some newport here with us. We have a home game this weekend and an away game the following saturday. . .which the behans will miss because they will just be getting in . Unfortunately the sat they will be here for we have a bye so unless we have a cancelation next week they wont see any rugby. Ok thats it for now hope all is well at home and its nice to see that biggie got to venture out in his boxers up in NH . . .we saw the picture thanks mike martin it was laughs.

Hey gents,
First off, congrats on the big win over providence, the cup is back where it belongs. Its awesome to hear you guys are doing so well, it seems adam and I were the week links! Rugby is going good for us as well, both of us had wins in our games this weekend, however I did drop an easy try on the goal line in front of everyone, nice and embarrassing. Not too much else going on at the moment, it is starting to get cold, winter is here and im still looking for a job. Might have to join adam at the chicken shack pretty soon if i cant find anything.

let the games begin

Hey boys,

Adam and I had our season opener this past weekend. It went well, while the first grade lost, most of the other grades won. Adam and I played in the middle of the pack for the first week, adam played very well, but we also have a lot of room for improvement. We are learning more and more every week. The bus ride home was interesting, lots of singing and drinking was involved. We were called out, and told to sing our team song, which we don't know. We payed for that, as we had to down many beers, which led to a long night, but a good one. We also want to thank everyone for keeping us updated on biggie, as I know its been a tough week. We are extremely glad to hear he is doing well, and we've been praying for him.

Got this weekend off for Easter, but still have training all week, so we will update again after our next game.

Woollahra Weekend wrap up

Hey guys this is just fowarded from the Woollahra weekly email just so you know that weve been getting some burn hahah.

Weekend Wrap
The boys in blue rose at the crack of dawn to bundle 8 extra e-tags into their Ferraris for a trip to whoop-whoop. The Frenchies in the back of my vehicle enjoyed the voyage, likening Pennant Hills Road to the Champs Elysees. By 10am it was 35 degrees and the bacon and egg burgers smelt great. But there was rugby....... finally some serious, half structured, tough rugby to be played. After a long summer on overpriced low carb beer and late nights spading that unattainable German backpacker, it was time to jump in the dirt and belt someone.
The blokes who turned up played tremendously well. There was a toughness and direction to much of the play, especially the first and last match of the day. Big Chris Meharg played like a fiend, pinching balls and charging off the sides of the ruck. Schliebsy tucked the ball under his wing and darted away clear for a few early season meat pies. Chucky finally let go of the dream and returned to the piggies where he will no doubt become a very good hooker. The backs ran straight and hard for most of the day and defended well in the middle. Simon Thommo got through a mountain of work and new recruit Tommy the half threw some good balls. JP directed traffic early on in a return to No 10. Extra credit must got to blokes like the Frogs, Cedric and Jerome and the Seppos, Adam and Phil, who between them played probably every minute of football on the day. They played hard and would still be running around now if you asked.

We went to watch the Waratahs train tuesday which was cool. We have our last pre season game this weekend then its on to playing for points. We will get back to you after this weekend to let you know how it went . . . still job hunting might have something but not sure yet . . .wel keep ya posted.
